This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• Assume responsibility for the review, negotiation, drafting, and management of a diverse array of legal agreements.
• Provide guidance to Twilio’s internal clients regarding contract interpretation and negotiation.
• Advocate for Twilio’s mission, ethics, and integrity by ensuring adherence to compliance policies that mitigate risk, align with applicable local laws and regulations, and reflect Twilio’s values.
• Strive to comprehend the context of the positions held by Twilio’s customers and the requests made by Twilio’s internal clients.
• Aim to resolve problems and address concerns from their viewpoints.
• Assess which matters and issues require your attention most significantly at any given time.
• Strong academic credentials and a proven track record of success as a lawyer, including completion of an accredited law degree (LLB or JD).
• Admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of NSW.
• Over 5 years of experience in commercial transactions, with a minimum of 3 years focused on negotiating complex technology transactions (e.g., SaaS).
• Experience in supporting a large sales organization.
• Ability to structure, draft, and negotiate a high volume and wide variety of commercial contracts, including Master Services Agreements, Professional Services Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, and more.
• Demonstrated capacity to provide entrepreneurial, quick-thinking, pragmatic, business-oriented advice and recommendations that balance legal risk with business rewards effectively.
• Must be capable of translating complex legal concepts into understandable terms for non-lawyers to grasp the issues and associated risks.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to advocate for a position while maintaining a collaborative and open-minded approach.
