Cost Estimate Analyst Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Accountable for guiding the collective efforts of the team to reach and maintain high standards of customer service.

• Ensures the precision of patient data for authorizations, estimates, and patient assistance in an efficient manner.

• Collaborates seamlessly with other team leaders, departments, and management.

• Acts as a mentor and exemplifies a strong work ethic to inspire fellow team members.

• Maintains access to necessary resources and ensures that accounts are complete and secure.

• Directs the team in gathering essential insurance benefit and clinical details to accurately authorize requested services with the insurance provider.

• Assists in the processes of insurance and benefit verification, pre-certification, and pre-authorization.

• Identifies instances when patients are under-insured, enabling the evaluation and application of additional funding sources.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 3 years of customer service experience in a hospital or physician office environment.

• At least 1 year of medical insurance knowledge.

• Preferably a Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration or a related field, with 1 year of Government Program experience.

• Required one to two years of experience in registration or insurance verification.

• Required two years of experience in registration, billing, or insurance.

• Preferred three years of registration experience.

• Strong analytical skills are essential.

• Customer service experience is mandatory.

• Proficient knowledge of EHR systems (e.g., Epic).

• Familiarity with medical terminology.

• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS codes, and coding processes.

• Significant understanding or experience with other front-end processes, such as scheduling, pre-registration, financial counseling, and registration; comprehension of the complete revenue cycle.

• Excellent teamwork abilities.

• Exceptional time management skills and capacity to juggle multiple tasks.

• Strong writing, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Solid understanding and comfort with computer systems and payer regulations.

• Experience with Epic is beneficial.

• Ability to type at least 35 words per minute.

• Outstanding verbal communication skills, including effective speaking and listening abilities.
