This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and implement quality standards for the company
• Oversee, review, and uphold quality assurance policies and procedures, including training, communication, and documentation
• Manage the Quality Incident Program for the network
• Educate and inspire employees to ensure adherence to quality standards
• Analyze data to meet operational objectives for quality assurance
• Estimate needs, prepare annual budgets, and plan expenditures
• Create quality assurance plans using hazard analyses and monitoring techniques
• Validate the quality attributes of product specifications and establish related quality processes
• Enhance and maintain product quality through audits of products, company practices, systems, and compliance
• Generate quality documentation and reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
• Provide technical knowledge and assistance to designated Cultivation/Production facilities and quality-oriented projects
• Prepare Quality Operations data, metrics, and performance evaluations for Management Review meetings
• Identify, suggest, and apply preventative measures and continuous improvement initiatives
• Plan and evaluate audit outcomes and non-conformity analyses
• Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams on risk and compliance matters
• Assist with the administration and upkeep of the document management system
• Work with cross-functional leaders to analyze serious adverse events and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Manage customer complaints and the internal and external CAPA processes in conjunction with Quality and Compliance leadership
• Oversee quality metrics for the Quality Incident Management program and facilitate root-cause issue resolution and effectiveness assessments
• Act as an authority on applicable domestic and international regulations and standards, including FDA, USDA, SQF, and CSQ
• Develop remote internal audit programs when necessary
• Assist in the recruitment of Quality roles as required
• Carry out additional duties as assigned
• At least 10 years of experience in quality assurance within food manufacturing
• Bachelor’s Degree is mandatory
• A Master’s degree in microbiology, food science, or chemical engineering is preferred
• Required proficiency in SQF, FSMA, and other food safety and quality systems
• HACCP and PCQI certification is a must
• Strong project management and communication abilities
• Exceptional attention to detail is essential
• In-depth knowledge of product-specific standards, materials, and manufacturing processes/techniques
• High level of accountability and technical expertise in a manufacturing setting
• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment
• Proven record of engaging teams and fostering a collaborative atmosphere
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
• Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio
• Experience with electronic Quality Management Systems is preferred
• Must successfully pass all required background checks
• Must adhere to all legal and company regulations relevant to the industry
• A valid driver’s license is necessary
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Approval from a state badging agency to work in the cannabis industry is required
• Positions may qualify for a discretionary annual incentive program based on organizational and individual performance
• Option for remote work arrangement
• Travel may be required up to 20% of the time
