This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Implement approved engineering projects and tasks to achieve ROI and adhere to deadlines
• Update stakeholders on project status and coordinate project reviews
• Act as a technical expert for issues related to composites and materials
• Design and create BMC and SMC compounds, products, processes, and materials
• Develop and validate new materials while assisting with formulation changes and composite production
• Oversee process control and maintain process documentation
• Manage engineering change controls
• Provide training in process engineering focusing on DMAIC and Six Sigma methodologies
• Supervise Green Belt continuous improvement projects
• Coordinate A3 projects to ensure they are completed within budget and on schedule
• Manage R&D budgets and projects
• Lead initiatives for FMEA and Control Plans
• Define installation requirements, draft statements of work, secure bids/proposals, and oversee capital equipment installation
• Support manufacturing facilities in implementing new processes and equipment
• Create technical reports and training materials regarding materials, processes, and equipment capabilities
• Analyze data and present findings clearly
• Identify, implement, and document opportunities for continuous improvement and cost savings
• Collaborate with industry associations such as UL, NEMA, IEC, IEEE, and others
• Proven experience in the procurement, specification, and installation of capital equipment
• Competence in project management
• Background in materials and equipment within a manufacturing setting
• Exceptional organizational skills and proficiency in project management software
• Strong performance-driven work ethic with a commitment to personal and professional development
• Capability to analyze complex data and conduct statistical analyses
• Proficient in essential software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Experience facilitating FMEA and Control Plan processes
• Strong communication skills in English
• BS/MS in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or Materials Engineering)
• OSHA competency in an industrial environment
• At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role
• Familiarity with BMC and/or SMC compression molding or formulation development
• Self-motivated and collaborative team player who can excel in an entrepreneurial setting
• Background in Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement along with problem-solving abilities
• Willingness to travel to support projects across the enterprise
• Ability to occasionally work on the manufacturing floor
