This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Provide legal assistance for the daily operations of Experian Consumer Services (ECS), a business generating over $1.7 billion and serving more than 80 million consumer members.
• Offer advice on a wide array of legal issues related to financial wellness, credit education, and identity protection products.
• Evaluate and interpret both current and forthcoming laws and regulations, covering areas such as financial services, consumer protection, and data privacy.
• Conduct assessments of legal risks and regulatory reviews for new products, features, and marketing strategies.
• Assist in the development and launch of cutting-edge consumer products including Experian Boost, Smart Money Digital Checking, Experian Go, and Insurance Services.
• Draft, review, and negotiate intricate agreements, encompassing strategic partnerships, FinTech collaborations, and financial services contracts.
• Act as a subject matter expert on the changing legal and regulatory landscape affecting digital consumer financial services.
• Collaborate closely with business leaders, general managers, and cross-functional teams to provide proactive and solution-focused legal guidance.
• Contribute to a dynamic team dedicated to promoting financial empowerment and innovation.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience in a large law firm and/or an in-house environment.
• Knowledge of financial services and FinTech regulations and/or transactions.
• A commitment to the highest standards and diligence in managing legal matters.
• Experience dealing with issues in highly regulated industries.
• Proven experience in developing practical strategies for complex business challenges.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and a license to practice law in the applicable jurisdictions.
