Copyright & Publishing Operations Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Database Management: Develop and uphold precise compositions in our publishing software; diligently update and verify publishing metadata.

• Rights Registrations: Oversee the comprehensive registration process using CWR (Common Works Registration) and manage the importing and reconciliation of ACKs (Acknowledgments) from societies.

• Conflict Resolution: Address ownership overlaps, double-claims, and disputes within the publishing ecosystem.

• Quality Control: Examine all publishing submissions for correctness and compliance prior to their submission to societies.

• Stakeholder Liaison: Respond to inquiries from collection societies (PRS, ASCAP, BMI, etc.), DSPs, and our internal roster of songwriters and publishers.

• Problem Solving: Detect and resolve registration problems and data discrepancies to minimize revenue loss.

⛳️ Requirements

• Exceptional Analytical Skills: You possess a natural talent for identifying patterns, spotting errors in large datasets, and tackling complex issues with a systematic, logical approach.

• Spreadsheet Power User: High proficiency in Google Sheets and/or Excel is essential. You should be at ease with: Advanced Formulas, Data Cleaning, and Data Comparison.

• Technical Proficiency: Experience with publishing software and a solid grasp of CWR files and society portals is strongly preferred.

• Precision & Accuracy: You adhere to a "measure twice, cut once" philosophy. In publishing, a single digit can determine whether a royalty is paid or lost.

• Communication: Capable of translating intricate technical issues into clear, professional updates for clients and partners.

• Industry Knowledge: A fundamental understanding of the global publishing landscape (Mechanical vs. Performance rights, the role of PROs/CMOs, etc.).
