Cooling Tower Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Support the construction, assembly, installation, fabrication, and maintenance of cooling towers.

• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures; halt work in the presence of unsafe conditions.

• Assist in the installation of motors, fans, gearboxes, drive shafts, mechanical supports, and fan stacks.

• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and building plans while coordinating with the Foreman.

• Aid in the selection of lumber and other materials for the project.

• Prepare layouts utilizing rulers, tape measures, framing squares, and calipers.

• Indicate cuts, holes, and assembly lines using pencils, chalk, and marking gauges.

• Shape materials with saws, chisels, and grinders.

• Assemble materials that have been cut and shaped.

• Assist with the installation of piping and nozzles.

• Support framework erection efforts.

• Carry out additional assignments as directed by Superintendents, Field and Area Managers, and Foremen.

• Work at heights while maintaining 100% tie-off compliance.

• Travel frequently as necessitated by project location and duration.

• Undertake other tasks as assigned by OBR Field Supervision.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

• Valid Driver’s License or ID Card and dependable transportation.

• Understanding and implementation of safety standards acquired through OSHA training and experience.

• Experience in an industrial work environment.

• Capability to work within precise limits and/or standards of accuracy.

• Proficiency in selecting and utilizing appropriate tools.

• Ability to compare and accurately identify differences in size, shape, and form of items.

• Capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.

• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work well with others.

• Adaptability to a fast-paced work environment.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, climb stairs and structures, and stoop as needed.

• Proficiency in reading effectively from a computer screen and/or printed material.

• Effective verbal communication skills.

• Successful completion of a negative 10-panel urinalysis and breath alcohol test.

• Valid Driver’s License and proof of U.S. Citizenship.

• Satisfactory completion of a background check.

• Score of 2 or lower on a DISA background screen.

• OSHA 10 Certification is preferred.
