This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Collaborate with Operating Units, Convention Specialists, and Finance stakeholders to create annual convention budgets, uphold forecasting models, oversee spending, assist with accrual activities, and recognize budget risks and savings opportunities.
• Take ownership of convention-related financial reporting by reconciling expenses, verifying cost allocations, analyzing variances, and ensuring precise reporting to the relevant cost centers.
• Create and maintain dashboards, automated reporting solutions, KPI reporting, and analytics for executive-level insights.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power Apps, Glean, and various analytics and automation tools to enhance reporting, optimize workflows, identify data discrepancies, and improve data integrity.
• Act as the main point of contact between Operating Units and convention stakeholders, facilitating budget discussions, gathering requirements, communicating financial performance, and adjusting communication strategies as necessary.
• Lead vendor performance management initiatives, including SLA monitoring, vendor scorecards, business reviews, compliance support, performance tracking, and cost-savings analysis.
• Assist convention operations by managing project timelines, planning documentation, invoice processing, data governance activities, and cross-functional process execution.
• Engage in continuous improvement through process standardization, documentation, automation opportunities, stakeholder training, and the implementation of new technologies and reporting capabilities.
• A Bachelor's degree with over 5 years of experience in financial analysis, business analytics, budget management, project management, sales operations, event operations, or related analytical business functions; or an Advanced Degree with a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, complex formulas, data validation techniques, and the analysis of large datasets.
• Experience in managing budgets, forecasts, financial reporting, accrual processes, or business performance analytics.
• Proven experience in developing reports, dashboards, or data visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, Glean, or similar business intelligence and analytics platforms.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to communicate data-driven insights, facilitate decision-making, and manage competing priorities.
• For degrees obtained outside the United States, a degree that meets the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is necessary.
• Must have unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment; sponsorship is not available for roles below the Principal level.
• Preferred: experience in supporting conventions, tradeshows, meetings, events, or commercial operations programs.
• Preferred: familiarity with Microsoft Power Apps, workflow automation tools, or AI-enabled reporting solutions.
• Preferred: experience managing vendor relationships, supplier performance programs, SLAs, or ensuring contract compliance.
• Preferred: knowledge of SAP, ReadSoft, Workfront, or similar systems.
• Preferred: experience in identifying process improvement opportunities and implementing scalable reporting, analytics, or operational solutions.
