This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Design and develop building automation systems, including site-specific configurations of control systems and control algorithms.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, company guidelines, and customer design standards during programming and implementation.
• Generate comprehensive design documents that include technical details for project teams, and effectively document and communicate all building automation system designs and updates.
• Create and evaluate graphical and text-based interfaces for building automation systems before their implementation.
• Facilitate functional testing for building systems and provide technical assistance to sales representatives to ensure customer requirements are fulfilled.
• Recognize and communicate potential project opportunities and risks.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field; OR an Associate degree with over 2 years of experience in designing, programming, or field-testing commercial HVAC and control systems; OR a High School Diploma or GED with more than 4 years of experience in the same areas.
• A Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering or Construction discipline.
• Experience in HVAC controls, Building Automation, Test and Balance (TAB), or similar industry sectors.
• Proficient understanding of the fundamental functions of building automation system software and relevant engineering tools (Automated Logic suites preferred).
• Familiarity with Automated Logic software, hardware, peripherals, add-ons, and services.
• Knowledge of third-party communication protocols utilized in building automation (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, LON, N2).
• Experience with Enterprise IP networks and Microsoft Visio, or comparable drafting/diagramming tools.
• Capability to comprehend written sequences of operations and diagrammatic representations of control systems.
• Skill in effectively translating technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Physical ability to climb ladders or operate lift equipment over 8 feet in height, and lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
