This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.
• Oversee the complete accounts payable operations, which includes vendor payments, employee reimbursements, and payroll processing.
• Supervise the entire accounts receivable cycle, encompassing invoicing, contract management, and collections.
• Maintain precise weekly and monthly reports on cash inflows and outflows, providing necessary commentary.
• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
• Update and standardize the chart of accounts along with the cost center structure.
• Manage revenue recognition in accordance with IFRS 15, which includes contract review, performance obligation identification, and handling variable consideration.
• Consistently apply IFRS 16 (leases) and IAS 38 (intangible assets and internally developed software), while maintaining supporting schedules and amortization/depreciation methods.
• Design, document, and implement internal controls over financial reporting to ensure audit readiness by the fiscal year 2027.
• Prepare financial reporting packages for leadership and prospective investors.
• Thoroughly document all financial processes as they are developed.
• Identify and remove manual or Excel-based workflows; implement automation wherever feasible.
• Evaluate and support ERP tools and integrations to enhance data integrity.
• Collaborate with outsourced providers during the transition phase to ensure a seamless handover.
• Develop and uphold finance policies (expense, travel, approvals, vendor onboarding) and promote their adoption throughout the organization.
• Enhance overall forecasting and budgeting processes by working closely with other departments.
• Partner with senior management to set and achieve financial objectives.
• Coordinate tax compliance (direct, indirect, and cross-border) in collaboration with external advisors.
• Recruit, train, and supervise the team responsible for controlling operations.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, or Administration.
• Demonstrated experience (4+ years) in managing treasury operations with a cash-flow-oriented approach.
• Strong accounting knowledge: financial reporting, GAAP compliance (familiar with IFRS 15 and able to discuss it in detail).
• Familiarity with chart of accounts review, cost center structures, and month/quarter/year-end closing processes.
• Previous audit experience (Big 4 or similar) providing a solid accounting foundation and resilience.
• Experience in an early-stage, high-growth, fast-paced startup environment is preferred.
• Experience in managing personnel (ideally) within an early-stage, high-growth, and dynamic startup setting.
• Experience with various ERP systems and automation tools.
• Proficient in MS Office/Excel, Google Suite, Notion, and AI tools (e.g., Claude, Co-pilot, Gemini, etc.).
• Fluent in Portuguese.
• Advanced proficiency in English (capable of interacting with international suppliers).
