This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Collaborate with the mechanical design team to create control sequences, diagrams, and point lists for mechanical systems that support both building and process systems.
• Work alongside the electrical design team to develop network architectures and point lists for electrical distribution and conditioning systems.
• Partner with the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) design team to align structured ethernet cabling interfaces with control panels and end devices.
• Design robust operational technology (OT) networks for control systems that incorporate both ethernet and serial networks using diverse media (wireless, fiber, copper).
• Create the basis of design (BOD) for building automation systems (BAS), programmable logic controllers (PLC), power monitoring system (PMS) controllers, instrumentation, and software, including datasheets.
• Tailor division 23 and 25 controls, instrumentation, and cybersecurity technical specifications in accordance with the BOD.
• Customize division 26 power monitoring specifications while coordinating with the electrical team to ensure compatibility of factory-mounted systems on distribution equipment.
• Possess knowledge of contemporary control system protocols for BAS, EPMS, and PLC, such as Modbus, BACnet, EtherNet/IP, etc., along with the appropriate applications and network requirements for specifications.
• Ensure compliance with relevant US codes and engineering standards/practices.
• Demonstrate the ability to utilize templated models for system deployment, while tracking and justifying all modifications from client models.
• Coordinate with other disciplines as necessary to achieve a cohesive and well-integrated design.
• Be prepared to work flexible hours to participate in project meetings and calls.
• Maintain a detail-oriented and technical approach while being experienced enough to understand the broader perspective.
• Manage schedules to meet budgetary expectations.
• Exhibit the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing project deadlines.
• Show a passion and enthusiasm for design within a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environment.
• Bachelor's Degree with over 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• A minimum of four years of experience as an Instrumentation and Control Engineer (I&C) or as a controls contractor responsible for creating controls submittals.
• Proficient in BAS and PLC control system platforms.
• Experience with Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (PMS/EPMS).
