📋 Description

• We are thrilled to invite a new Contract Manager to join our rapidly expanding business and play a key role in our success.

• Oversee a portfolio of projects primarily in the Gas transmission and distribution sector, ensuring that programme requirements are fulfilled while aligning with both Company and divisional goals and meeting client and customer expectations.

• Manage projects to meet objectives related to safety, time, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction.

• Responsible for the successful oversight of projects, developing a strategic programme of work at the contract's inception and consistently monitoring progress to ensure targets are met regarding safety, time, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction.

• Accountable for the comprehensive management of projects, setting standards and ensuring consistency throughout the Business in accordance with United Living processes and procedures.

• Recruit and develop operational teams to satisfy both current and future demands.

• Manage the rights and obligations of the Company as outlined in the contract.

• Serve as a prominent leader in HSQ&E, advocating for high standards of health, safety, and environmental management through regular site visits and team coaching.

• Ensure all HSQ&E activities and reporting are precise, legally compliant, and adhere to group policies, promptly addressing and resolving any issues identified.

• Guarantee that projects are adequately staffed and led effectively, maintaining high levels of commitment and morale; ensure consistent two-way communication.

• Actively assist the Operations Director in managing potential opportunities and risks that may affect the business plan.

• Lead teams by example and ensure that United Living remains a centre of excellence.

• Collaborate closely with the Commercial Manager to ensure alignment and effective management of all commercial and operational matters.

• Ensure that any work performed outside the contract scope is communicated and approved by the Client, with a clear understanding of the implications and financial impact of changes.

• Address operational and technical issues at the project level.

• Provide support to the Bid Team and work-winning function as necessary.

• Foster and maintain excellent working relationships through effective communication with Clients and Stakeholders.

• Engage with Clients to build trust and enhance mutual understanding.

• Responsible for delivering client strategies, ensuring the Company meets KPIs and Client Critical Success Factors, and implementing initiatives for continuous improvement.

• Oversee all People responsibilities for the team, including conducting and monitoring the completion of Performance & Development Reviews, and coaching team members to achieve individual and business objectives.

• Manage all employee-related issues, coordinating with People Services as necessary.

• Ensure robust contract and delivery programmes are developed, encompassing design and procurement, with full ownership by the team.

• Collaborate with Project teams to provide accurate and up-to-date reports on Project progress, highlighting any potential risks to relevant parties.

• Ensure strong working relationships on the Project between Operations and Commercial teams to maintain effective financial and programme controls, discussing and progressing any financial implications with the Commercial team.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must be an experienced Gas or Pipeline Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager aiming to take the next step, capable of managing a portfolio of work from delivery, HSQE, and commercial perspectives to achieve the targets outlined in the Business Plan.

• Possess commercial and programming awareness – experience with NEC form of contract is essential.

• Demonstrated history of successfully delivering projects from inception to completion.

• Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• Experience with similar projects for or with National Grid, Cadent, Northern Gas Networks, or Scotia Gas Networks is advantageous.

• Experience managing high-value projects or portfolios is preferred.

• Willingness to travel weekly, with lodging as required.

• A valid UK driving license is required.
