This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Utilizes technical expertise, insight, analytical skills, and decision-making abilities to conduct civil structural analyses and design for both Nuclear Safety-Related and Non-Safety-Related structures.
• Employs structural engineering tools and adheres to relevant standards to design structures, including the post-processing of analytical outcomes.
• Collaborates with various disciplines and structural engineering consultants.
• Formulates and evaluates requirements documents, methodology documents, design reports, and studies.
• Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
• Oversees suppliers and reviews technical documentation.
• A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution is mandatory.
• An advanced degree is desirable.
• A registered professional engineer license (P.E.) is highly preferred.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in nuclear or non-nuclear settings as a Structural Design Engineer is essential.
• Additional required experience includes the design and analysis of structures, such as concrete and steel, proficiency in design software, and finite element method analyses.
• Familiarity with the following codes is preferred: ASCE 43, ASCE 4, ACI 349 & 318, ASCE 7, IBC, and AISC N690, as well as the Steel Construction Manual and Seismic Design Manual.
• Proficiency in ANSYS is required; experience with LS-DYNA is preferred.
• Computer programming skills (e.g., Matlab or Python) are not mandatory but are preferred.
• Must be eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
• Remote work opportunities are available within the contiguous United States.
