This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create and sustain contract rate frameworks for customer freight agreements, encompassing base rates, fuel surcharges, accessorial fees, and lane-specific pricing.
• Evaluate historical freight data, market rate fluctuations, and carrier expenses to propose competitive and profitable pricing strategies.
• Collaborate with Sales and Carrier Sourcing teams to formulate pricing proposals for RFPs and bid submissions.
• Analyze the margin effects of suggested contract terms and identify deals that fall outside of target profitability limits.
• Oversee contract adherence, ensuring that invoiced rates align with agreed-upon contract terms, and address any pricing discrepancies.
• Monitor profitability at both lane and account levels throughout the duration of a contract, advising on renegotiations when margins diminish.
• Maintain pricing databases and tools, including TMS, Excel models, or pricing software, ensuring that rate cards are current.
• Perform market benchmarking utilizing DAT and Freightwaves SONAR to confirm pricing against spot and contract market conditions.
• Assist in renewal processes by assessing contract performance and preparing recommendations for renewal or renegotiation.
• Work jointly with Legal, HR, and Finance on contract terms that impact pricing.
• Ensure pricing accuracy, competitiveness, and profitability across long-term freight agreements at Charger Logistics, an asset-based carrier.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2-3 years of experience in pricing, revenue management, or analytics; freight/logistics/3PL experience is highly preferred.
• Proficient in Excel (including pivot tables, lookups, and modeling); experience with SQL or BI tools (Power BI/Tableau) is a plus.
• Knowledge of TMS platforms (McLeod, Trimble, MercuryGate, etc.) and freight market data sources (DAT, SONAR).
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to convert data into clear pricing recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills to facilitate cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Carrier Sourcing, and Finance.
