Contract Manufacturing Strategic Sourcing Associate Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the operations and management of the Procurement’s Contract Manufacturing Strategic Sourcing team.

• Drive the execution and delivery of strategic sourcing priorities in alignment with External Supply financial targets and goals.

• Develop and implement procurement sourcing strategies for Contract Manufacturing.

• Lead the global Contract Manufacturing Strategic Sourcing team by providing direction, mentorship, and execution leadership.

• Promote continuous improvement and identify opportunities for capturing value year-over-year.

• Own and achieve annual savings and value plans that align with category, business, and Finance strategies.

• Advise External Supply and influence sourcing agendas in collaboration with business executives.

• Partner with Finance executives to provide financial leadership.

• Enhance team capabilities, foster diversity and inclusion, and drive ongoing improvements in sourcing and contracting processes.

• Establish goals and prioritize team efforts across various initiatives; offer performance feedback.

• Assist Sourcing Managers in converting strategic programs into sourcing deliverables and results.

• Cultivate supplier partnerships and expand knowledge of supplier capabilities and innovation opportunities.

• Identify and mitigate supply risks while ensuring compliance with regulations.

• Monitor and report on Strategic Sourcing performance metrics.

• Implement initiatives for process improvement, environmental sustainability, supplier diversity, and automation.

• Stay informed about industry standards and evolve Amgen’s contractual position to maintain a competitive advantage.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctorate degree and 3 years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or Operations.

• Master’s degree and 7 years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or Operations.

• Bachelor’s degree and 9 years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or Operations.

• Associate’s degree and 12 years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or Operations.

• High school diploma/GED and 14 years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or Operations.

• At least 3 years of experience in directly managing people and/or leading teams, projects, programs, or resource allocation.

• Experience is preferred in a regulated industry.

• In-depth understanding of Strategic Sourcing best practices relevant to Contract Manufacturing.

• Familiarity with GLP, GMP, ISO, and OSHA standards and regulations.

• Capability to lead and manage procurement teams that support capital, COGM, and COS expenditures.

• Strong analytical skills for monitoring performance, optimizing sourcing, and ensuring compliance.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with executives.

• Proficient in working effectively with global, virtual teams.

• Ability to lead in ambiguous situations.

• High level of initiative and self-motivation.

• Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities.
