This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Assist in the preparation and support of month-end and quarter-end closing activities, which include accruals, true-ups, journal entries, reconciliations, rollforwards, balance-sheet substantiation, and flux or variance analysis.
• Generate journal-entry support and submissions, ensuring accurate account and cost-center coding; track approval, posting, and rejection statuses while coordinating timely follow-ups with authorized personnel.
• Conduct vendor- and contract-level reconciliations, track actuals against accruals, resolve discrepancies, and assist with ongoing management reporting.
• Provide support for lease, fixed-asset, construction-in-progress, and related infrastructure accounting tasks, including data capture, schedule maintenance, modifications, and period-end entries.
• Ensure complete and precise contract and pricing records are maintained across new agreements, amendments, credits, delivery or drawdown changes, extensions, and terminations.
• Convert commercial terms into accounting inputs and operational workflows, ensuring that relevant changes are incorporated into recurring accounting processes.
• Validate vendor invoices and operational data against established rates, usage, commitments, delivery, resource attributes, and accounting mappings.
• Investigate exceptions, document root causes and resolutions, track open items and bottlenecks, and coordinate follow-up until completion.
• Adhere to established accounting policies, standard operating procedures, closing calendars, review requirements, and approval workflows.
• Implement control procedures over source data and workpapers, including checks for completeness and accuracy, evidence retention, and preparation of reviewer-ready documentation.
• Respond to audit and control requests by compiling tie-outs, schedules, explanations, and source evidence.
• Utilize company information only through authorized systems and devices, follow least-privilege and security protocols, and promptly report suspected data, security, or access issues.
• Collaborate with accounting, technical accounting, procurement, finance, data, engineering, and external vendors to address accounting and operational challenges.
• Clearly communicate requirements, status updates, outstanding items, and accounting implications to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Escalate unusual contracts, accounting judgments, control exceptions, or access requests, providing clear context and suggested next steps.
• Identify recurring data-quality issues, process delays, and control gaps, and highlight trends and recommended enhancements.
• Draft clear requirements, test system or process modifications, and verify downstream accounting outputs prior to operational implementation.
• Enhance recurring workflows through standardization, documentation, automation, and tooling; maintain clear procedures and transitions.
• Responsibly use approved AI-enabled tools to minimize manual effort, enhance analysis and documentation, and support scalable workflows while adhering to data security and review requirements.
• Assist in maintaining consistent execution as systems, accounting requirements, and workflows evolve.
• Progressive experience in accounting, audit, advisory, or a related finance function, including practical operational accounting experience.
• Strong background in month-end and quarter-end closing processes involving accruals, journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and workpaper preparation.
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls, with the discernment to identify and escalate issues that require technical accounting review.
• Experience in interpreting contracts, invoices, and extensive operational datasets, translating them into accurate accounting results.
• Advanced skills in spreadsheet and data analysis, along with experience in using an ERP or similar finance system.
• Proven ability to utilize AI tools to reduce manual work, enhance analysis, improve documentation, and create scalable operating efficiency.
• Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, clear documentation practices, and the capability to independently manage high-volume, deadline-driven tasks.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across Finance, Procurement, Engineering, external vendors, and different time zones.
• Operational accounting experience in a technology, cloud-computing, or infrastructure setting.
• Experience with Oracle Fusion and lease-accounting, fixed-asset, or comparable finance systems.
• CPA, CA, or an equivalent professional accounting credential.
• Familiarity with cloud and compute costs, lease accounting, fixed assets, construction in progress, or related infrastructure arrangements.
• Knowledge of SQL, GitHub, issue-tracking tools, or similar technical tools used for investigating data and process challenges.
• Experience in audit-ready, high-growth, or control-focused operational settings.
• Experience working collaboratively across time zones with distributed teams and external service providers.
