This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Manage losses and claims for property and casualty insurance providers

• Review insurance policies and other documentation to assess coverage

• Conduct interviews, phone calls, and correspondence with claimants and witnesses

• Consult police reports and hospital records

• Evaluate property damage to ascertain the extent of the company's liability

• Estimate costs for repairs, replacements, or compensation

• Draft findings reports and negotiate settlements with claimants

• Advise the legal department to pursue litigation if a settlement cannot be reached

• Attend litigation hearings as necessary

• Update case reserves in assigned claim files to reflect probable costs

• Aid in the preparation of loss experience reports to assist in determining profitability and calculating appropriate future rates

• Perform additional duties as assigned

• Support the organization's quality programs

• Travel as needed


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred

• Must obtain IIA-AIC designation within 12 to 18 months

• A valid state adjuster license is required

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation abilities

• Proficiency in PC use, including Microsoft Office applications

• Proven commitment to timely reporting

• Strong customer service orientation

• Effective interpersonal skills

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Good time management and organizational capabilities

• Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting

• Capability to meet or surpass Performance Competencies

• Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods

• Must be able to kneel, squat, or bend

• Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, both hot and cold

• Ability to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel, and reach or work overhead

• Capable of lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds

• Able to push/pull up to 100 pounds

• Must be able to drive for up to 4 hours a day

• Continuous use of manual dexterity is required
