Content Developer, Specialist – ELA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Create and assess content-specific test items, including multiple-choice questions, technology-enhanced items, extended responses, cluster sets, performance-based tasks, and simulations for large-scale assessments across various grade levels.

• Assist in the development of item, passage, and test specifications, item development plans, test blueprints, and other supporting documents.

• Utilize AI-powered tools to aid in the development, review, and enhancement of assessment content while ensuring adherence to quality and accessibility standards.

• Collaborate with team members to integrate AI-generated materials into assessment workflows and provide expertise in content and education.

• Aid in the selection, assignment, management, and training of item/passage writers and educators.

• Organize and support customer meetings, offering expertise in content assessment.

• Oversee test construction activities and review completed test forms.

• Consult with clients during planning, status updates, and review meetings.

• Work closely with test development managers, content developers, psychometricians, and other Pearson departments.

• Stay updated on emerging technologies relevant to educational content creation and assessment, including AI.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in education, a content-specific area, or equivalent experience is required.

• A minimum of five years of experience as an elementary or secondary teacher in the relevant content area is preferred.

• Professional knowledge of the content-specific area and current educational trends is required.

• Some experience in large-scale educational measurement is preferred.

• A general understanding of all phases of development, processing, scoring, and reporting for large-scale assessments is preferred.

• Proven excellence in AI-supported content development, or clear evidence of strong potential and readiness to effectively utilize AI in content creation.

• Experience or familiarity with prompting, refining, and assessing AI-generated content for educational purposes.

• Proficiency in basic software tools and technology, along with the confidence to engage with unfamiliar programs.

• A demonstrated interest in learning about and adapting to evolving AI technologies.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to creatively and flexibly tackle challenges with diverse audiences.

• Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to manage multiple activities and adapt to unforeseen events.

• Some travel may be required.
