Content Developer, English Language Arts

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Create and evaluate content-specific test items, which include multiple choice, technology-enhanced, extended response, cluster sets, performance-based tasks, and simulations for various grade levels in large-scale assessments.

• Assist in the formulation of item, passage, and test specifications, development plans, test blueprints, and other relevant documents.

• Utilize AI-driven tools to aid in the creation, review, and enhancement of assessment content, ensuring that the outputs comply with quality and accessibility standards.

• Work collaboratively with team members to integrate AI-generated resources into assessment workflows, providing feedback through content and educational expertise.

• Aid in the selection, assignment, management, and training of item/passage writers and educators to create items aligned with standards, cognitive complexity, and best practices in item development.

• Organize and support customer meetings, offering expertise in content assessment.

• Oversee activities related to test construction and review of developed test forms.

• Consult with clients during planning, status, and review meetings.

• Collaborate closely with test development managers, content developers, psychometricians, and other groups within Pearson.

• Keep abreast of new technologies pertinent to educational content creation and assessment, including AI innovations.

• Carry out other assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in education, a content-specific area, or equivalent experience is required.

• Preferred: Five years of experience as an elementary or secondary teacher in a content-specific field.

• Required: Professional knowledge of the content-specific area and current educational trends.

• Preferred: Some experience in large-scale educational measurement.

• Preferred: General knowledge of all phases of development, processing, scoring, and reporting of large-scale assessments.

• Demonstrated excellence in AI-supported content development, or clear evidence of strong potential and readiness to effectively utilize AI in content creation.

• Experience or familiarity with prompting, refining, and assessing AI-generated content for educational purposes.

• Proficiency in basic software tools and technology, coupled with the confidence to engage with unfamiliar programs.

• Demonstrated interest in learning about and adapting to new AI technologies as they develop.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to creatively and flexibly tackle challenges with diverse audiences.

• Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, with a capacity to manage multiple activities and adapt to unforeseen events.

• Some travel may be required.
