Content Architect – Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the architecture related to education for content creation and learning delivery platforms, ensuring they facilitate high-quality and scalable content production.

• Collaborate closely with IT teams to shape long-term roadmaps and architectural strategies.

• Work alongside other Content Architects to ensure platform architecture aligns with production workflows and operational excellence.

• Spearhead Education’s transition to modern publishing technologies, including the adoption of a new XML publishing tool that replaces an outdated legacy system.

• Ensure that new enterprise systems are designed and configured to fulfill Education’s instructional, editorial, accessibility, and operational requirements.

• Establish standards, governance, metadata structures, and best practices for platform utilization across the Education sector.

• Foster continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance automation, minimize manual efforts, and boost production quality.

• Facilitate the delivery of curriculum across various output formats, including Canvas courses, PDFs, print books, and eBooks, through efficient single-source publishing workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience with XML publishing workflows and single-source publishing within a production setting.

• Strong knowledge of enterprise content management systems and their role in supporting complex publishing operations.

• Experience engaging with both technical and business stakeholders to convert operational requirements into platform enhancements.

• Demonstrated ability to manage intricate, technically demanding production environments with a keen focus on quality and precision.

• Background in influencing platform choices, architectural pathways, or technology roadmaps.

• Exceptional collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage with IT, Product teams, vendors, and content production groups.

• Experience in digital publishing, educational publishing, learning technology, or similarly intricate content settings.
