This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Identify and cultivate unique content concepts that align with journal and portfolio goals.
• Collaborate with Editors-in-Chief, Guest Editors, Publishers, and internal teams to create special issues and related content initiatives.
• Leverage data and research insights to pinpoint emerging topics, prospective contributors, Guest Editors, and opportunities.
• Establish and nurture relationships with researchers, editors, and internal stakeholders across various subject areas.
• Oversee multiple content acquisition projects, monitoring activities and progress.
• Enhance journal visibility through researcher engagement, conferences, webinars, virtual events, and outreach efforts.
• Ensure quality, meticulousness, and responsiveness throughout content acquisition workflows.
• Collaborate on team initiatives to boost efficiency, scalability, and operational methodologies.
• Experience engaging with the research community and/or in STM publishing, scholarly publishing, content acquisition, commissioning, or editorial settings.
• Strong research credibility or relevant background in publishing/content acquisition.
• Excellent communication skills to foster trust and engage both internal and external stakeholders.
• Outstanding organizational abilities with a capacity to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and projects effectively.
• Interest in scholarly publishing, research communication, and journal development.
• Analytical mindset with confidence in utilizing data for informed decision-making.
• Keen attention to detail coupled with a proactive and collaborative approach.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
• Willingness to travel as necessary, especially for conferences, workshops, or researcher engagement.
• Preferred: experience with special issues, article collections, commissioning activities, or content acquisition.
• Preferred: familiarity with working alongside Editors-in-Chief, Guest Editors, authors, reviewers, or research communities.
• Preferred: knowledge of bibliometric data, journal performance metrics, Excel, Power BI, VOSviewer, Scopus, Dimensions, or similar tools.
• Preferred: experience in supporting webinars, conferences, researcher outreach, or community engagement.
• PhD, MSc, or an equivalent higher degree is preferred but not mandatory.
