This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Accountable for conducting risk assessments for both secured and unsecured consumer loans of a complex nature.
• Examine, evaluate, and analyze consumer loan applications thoroughly.
• Approve, modify, or reject applications in accordance with credit union policies.
• Record and convey the rationale behind loan decisions clearly.
• Cultivate and enhance relationships with members, as well as internal and external originators.
• Guide junior analysts and provide support in intricate credit evaluations.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of underwriting standards, risk philosophy, credit culture, and prevailing market conditions.
• Ensure that all transactions are accurate, complete, and compliant with regulations.
• Assess credit histories and financial documents to ascertain repayment capacity.
• Implement fraud detection and prevention measures effectively.
• Address and resolve all grievances or issues raised by members, internal personnel, and business partners.
• Collect information, conduct analysis, and prepare reports as instructed by management.
• Assist in training originators on lending policies, processes, or procedures.
• A successful completion of the High School curriculum is mandatory.
• An Associate's degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in consumer lending is required.
• At least 4 years of experience in reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating loan applications.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, along with a keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in calculating figures and amounts accurately.
• Ability to apply logical reasoning when interpreting facts.
• Stay informed about key trends in the financial services sector.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of consumer loan underwriting, credit analysis, and reporting procedures.
• Thorough understanding of both branch and indirect credit union lending policies.
• Detailed comprehension of regional lending market conditions and collateral values.
• Familiarity with the use of automated loan origination systems.
