This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Provide guidance and assistance to clients regarding intricate customs, export control, and trade compliance issues.

• Manage consulting initiatives from initial scoping through to execution and final delivery.

• Evaluate customs and export control procedures, pinpoint regulatory risks, compliance deficiencies, and opportunities for enhancement.

• Create and implement effective compliance strategies, frameworks, internal controls, procedures, and governance systems.

• Spot business prospects and transform qualified sales leads into consulting engagements.

• Cultivate and sustain trusted relationships with clients while facilitating cross-selling and upselling opportunities.

• Contribute to the development of proposals, presentations, pitches, scopes of work, contract negotiations, and commercial documentation.

• Establish project goals, deliverables, responsibilities, and priorities in collaboration with clients and stakeholders.

• Coordinate with internal experts, external parties, customers, and regulatory authorities.

• Provide counsel on applications for import, export, transit, and other customs-related licenses and authorizations.

• Organize, conduct, and oversee customs and trade compliance audits and remediation strategies.

• Stay informed about customs regulations, export controls, trade agreements, and related compliance updates.

• Prepare and evaluate reports related to CBAM, Intrastat, authorizations, and other compliance subjects.

• Review and draft customs and export-related documentation, including submissions for authorities like BAFA.

• Design and facilitate training sessions and workshops focused on customs, trade compliance, and export control.

• Share knowledge, establish best practices, mentor junior consultants, and assist in team development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of pertinent professional experience in customs, export control, international trade compliance, or a related advisory area.

• Comprehensive understanding of customs regulations, customs procedures, trade compliance, and export control requirements.

• Experience advising both internal and external stakeholders on intricate regulatory and operational matters.

• Proven track record of independently managing and delivering complex projects.

• Ability to analyze customs and compliance processes, identify risks, and convert findings into actionable improvement strategies.

• Experience in developing or executing customs, export control, or trade compliance programs, processes, or internal controls.

• Strong client focus and the ability to foster trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.

• Commercial acumen and the capability to identify business opportunities and translate client needs into consulting projects.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Exceptional project management and stakeholder coordination skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication and presentation capabilities.

• Proactive and hands-on approach, demonstrating personal accountability and ownership.

• High quality standards, sound professional judgment, and a strong compliance orientation.

• Experience in business development activities, proposals, pitches, or commercial negotiations is a plus.

• Familiarity with customs authorities and relevant regulatory bodies is advantageous.

• Knowledge of CBAM, Intrastat, customs authorizations, audits, and regulatory reporting is a plus.

• Experience in designing or conducting professional training and workshops is an asset.

• Willingness and capability to support less experienced colleagues through knowledge sharing, coaching, and mentoring.
