This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Implement strategic coverage plans to achieve and maintain buy ratings for all of the firm's institutional strategies, encompassing both public and private markets strategies.
• Collaborate closely with business development, institutional sales, and relationship management teams to ensure impactful coverage of key field consultants.
• Strengthen relationships with field consultants, capitalize on buy ratings, and assist in retaining existing clients.
• Comprehend First Eagle’s unique investment strategies and effectively communicate them to consultants, clients, and internal stakeholders.
• Share insights gained from market conversations with Institutional team members during weekly meetings.
• Participate in conferences and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.
• Work alongside institutional distribution colleagues to execute both long-term and short-term strategic initiatives for the consultant market.
• Create business plans for targeted consulting firms within the assigned territory.
• Mentor analysts and associates on the Consultant Relations team.
• A bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field; MBA and/or CFA credentials are preferred.
• Over 8 years of experience in covering investment consulting firms.
• Background in credit and/or alternative investment strategies.
• Established relationships and credibility with select consulting firms.
• Exceptionally strong relationship management capabilities, with the ability to foster consensus internally and externally by embodying the principles of respect and collaboration.
• Ability to creatively leverage intellectual capital and thought leadership to forge commercial partnerships with research consultants.
• Comprehensive understanding of the institutional business and its competitive landscape.
• Proficiency in building strategic relationships with the investment consultant community by engaging in informed and impactful discussions.
• Proven track record of successfully attaining and retaining buy ratings from investment consultants, along with a history of raising institutional assets through the consultant channel.
• A true team player with the ability to collaborate seamlessly with all internal stakeholders, including investment, infrastructure, and broader Institutional team members.
• High degree of intellectual curiosity and critical thinking skills—capable of anticipating market trends and leveraging internal resources accordingly.
• A self-motivated work ethic, high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, and resourcefulness—an individual who “makes it happen.”
• Willingness to travel over 50% of working days to engage with consultants.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities; capable of managing a diverse workload.
• Display a temperament that balances teamwork, humility, patience, insight, hard work, urgency, and results.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to articulate investment insights thoughtfully.
