This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.
• Assist in the operational implementation of Open Data initiatives under the UNESCO-KISTI Collaboration.
• Enhance the benchmark framework utilized for evaluating national and institutional Open Data strategies.
• Complete the toolkit for Open Data platforms and develop implementation notes.
• Generate summary and annual reports pertaining to Open Data and Diamond Open Access initiatives.
• Create methodologies and guidelines aimed at reinforcing Diamond Open Access in Asia and Africa.
• Promote the exchange of best practices for preserving source code as part of digital documentary heritage.
• Coordinate information-sharing meetings with relevant stakeholders.
• Finalize a position paper on the recognition and preservation of software source code as digital documentary heritage.
• Assist in the preparation and development of the 2027 UNESCO-Software Heritage Symposium.
• Create presentations, position papers, and reports that support UNESCO's Open Solutions Programme.
• Identify partnership and fundraising opportunities linked to Open Solutions initiatives.
• Prepare monthly briefings and facilitate stakeholder engagement and resource mobilization.
• Submit monthly reports detailing progress in line with the terms of reference.
• Advanced university degree (Masters or equivalent) in Natural Sciences, Public Policy, or related fields.
• At least 10 years of pertinent professional experience in scientific research, international cooperation in sciences, or related areas.
• Exceptional communication and writing abilities.
• Capacity to conceptualize issues, analyze data, and synthesize information in a coherent and concise manner.
• Proficient IT and analytical skills, including the ability to extract, analyze, and synthesize reliable information from electronic knowledge systems.
• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Familiarity with UNESCO/UN rules and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to function under strict deadlines.
• Proficiency in working effectively in a multicultural and multilingual environment.
• Excellent command of English and satisfactory knowledge of French.
• Flexible remote work arrangement.
• Contract duration of 11 months.
• Monthly fee of up to 6500 EUR.
