This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.
• Guidehouse collaborates with state and local housing agencies, public housing authorities, and other mission-focused clients to design, implement, and enhance affordable housing programs.
• You will assist in client engagements that emphasize housing finance, program design, policy execution, and operational enhancements.
• Supporting the implementation of affordable housing finance and programs for public sector clients.
• Evaluating proposals for affordable housing development, including 4% and 9% LIHTC projects.
• Developing and assessing project budgets, sources and uses, and financial pro formas.
• Conducting feasibility studies, benefit-cost analyses, and subsidy layering evaluations.
• Aiding in project due diligence by reviewing development, financing, land use, and regulatory documentation.
• Assisting clients with the use of HOME, CDBG, ARPA, and other public funding sources.
• Researching and interpreting HUD regulations (24 CFR), QAPs, and program guidelines.
• Creating supporting deliverables such as memos, reports, tools, templates, Standard Operating Procedures, and presentations.
• Performing quantitative and qualitative analyses and synthesizing findings into clear, client-ready outputs.
• Supporting stakeholder engagement efforts, including interviews, workshops, and coordination with partner agencies.
• Managing assigned tasks, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with project leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in affordable housing finance, housing policy, public-sector consulting, government, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations.
• Experience in supporting affordable housing development, finance, or program implementation projects.
• Experience in developing or analyzing project budgets, financial models, or pro formas.
• Familiarity with LIHTC, HOME, CDBG, and/or other housing and community development funding sources.
• Working knowledge of HUD multifamily programs and relevant federal regulations.
• Strong Excel skills, including proficiency with pivot tables and lookup functions.
• Excellent analytical and research abilities with a keen attention to detail.
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a consulting environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
