Consultant, Data Protection

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Assist in the creation and ongoing enhancement of data protection frameworks (Data Protection Management System - DPMS) and associated processes.

• Act as the designated external Data Protection Officer (DPO).

• Establish and uphold documentation (e.g., records of processing activities, policies, roles, practical evidence).

• Facilitate and document DSFA/DPIA: preparation and execution.

• Conduct training and awareness programs that make data protection accessible and ingrained in daily operations.

• Serve as a liaison with information/IT security and compliance: effectively communicate requirements across business, technical teams, and regulatory bodies in a manner suitable for the audience.

• Perform data protection audits and/or assist clients during inspections.

• Engage in internal projects, organize our collective knowledge, and contribute to the evolution of our consulting methodology.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience at a consulting firm providing guidance on data protection, data security, and/or compliance.

• Degree or equivalent experience in one or more of our key areas, such as IT security, (business) informatics, business administration, or security management.

• Familiarity with standards/regulations: Essential knowledge of GDPR and applicable national data protection laws.

• Preferred (not mandatory): certification as a data protection auditor.

• Proficient in German, with good English language skills.

• Practical mindset with the capacity to convert intricate legal requirements into clear, prioritized tasks.

• Capability to establish and sustain long-term, trust-based relationships with clients.
