Construction Superintendent

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Oversee and direct all on-site construction operations in accordance with project specifications and plans.

• Achieve both substantial and final project completion, while generating punch lists.

• Manage equipment rentals on-site and track monthly expenses.

• Implement job site mobilization and demobilization processes.

• Ensure the construction site remains tidy and organized.

• Monitor deliveries of major equipment, valves, and parts.

• Schedule crane services for the offloading of significant equipment.

• Assess weather conditions affecting craft personnel.

• Take part in constructability reviews alongside engineering teams.

• Coordinate with process, electrical, controls, SCADA, project management, and external engineering teams.

• Create and manage construction schedules, ensuring that milestones are achieved.

• Efficiently allocate labor, materials, and equipment resources.

• Enforce safety regulations and adhere to building codes.

• Perform site inspections and guarantee the completion of daily Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).

• Facilitate communication between subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.

• Maintain daily logs, progress reports, and cost documentation.

• Assist in the commissioning and start-up process.

• Share insights gained from experiences and encourage open discussions about errors and near-misses.

• Collaborate with Operations, Business Development, Project Management, HR, and IT departments.

• Implement RACI principles for special projects.

• Identify opportunities to enhance quality and advocate for accuracy and thoroughness.

• Report directly to the Director of Projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in construction projects, with at least 2 years in on-site construction management.

• A valid driver's license for the applicable state of residence.

• Knowledge of construction site hazard assessments.

• Familiarity with OSHA Part 1926 – Safety and Health Regulations for Construction.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Ability to respond to urgent issues beyond standard business hours.

• Willingness to travel 100% of the time each month.

• Preferred: Expertise in MS Project, Procore, or other project management and scheduling software.

• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
