
Construction Site Superintendent – Midwest Region

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +10 more states.
• Provide on-site assistance for construction project operations: supervision of construction teams, industrial gas firms, permitting authorities, contractors, and suppliers.
• Maintain the schedule for all construction activities on-site and implement necessary adjustments to ensure deadlines are achieved.
• Keep an electronic daily log of all activities occurring on the jobsite.
• Oversee daily reports related to site progress and communicate findings to the Project Manager.
• Ensure adherence to budgetary limits and stay within the approved financial range.
• Promote high construction standards and quality assurance.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to plan and assess project priorities, including quality control procedures, safety and security measures, field office setup and layout, temporary utilities, staging areas, equipment, manpower, and other necessary elements.
• Guarantee the jobsite remains safe and that the Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements are enforced.
• Conduct job site meetings, addressing pertinent issues, and uphold safety and quality standards for the entire construction crew.
• Identify non-compliance by vendors or subcontractors with any safety, health, or quality standards and escalate issues for resolution as necessary.
• Coordinate all necessary municipal inspections.
• Recognize any challenges with construction timelines and progress, collaborating with the Project Manager for resolution.
• Maintain regular communication with internal project team members and end-customers to clarify project expectations and fulfill commitments.
• Represent Plug Power professionally at all times and in all interactions.
• Carry out any additional duties as assigned.
• High school diploma is required; vocational or college degree in a relevant field is preferred.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a site superintendent in industrial construction project management.
• Willingness to travel frequently within the domestic U.S. to customer locations for infrastructure project management activities; up to 100% of the time.
• Proven success in construction management with a history of delivering quality results on time.
• Must possess an understanding of construction best practices, including scheduling and planning concepts.
• Capability to read and interpret blueprints and P&IDs.
• Experience in any of the following areas is preferred and highly valued: Hydrogen and/or fuel cells, Cryogenic Industry, High-Pressure Systems (250 Bar and above), Gas processing and/or dispensing equipment, Oil and Gas, CNG, LNG, etc.
• Knowledge of Logistics/Material Handling.
• Proficient in computer and software systems relevant to the position, including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
