Construction Account Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and maintain detailed activity schedules to achieve procurement goals within designated timelines for clients.

• Execute and comply with project protocols from project identification through the oversight of project scope development, proposal assessments, contract compliance, and construction execution necessary for various Job Orders.

• Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications, with a thorough understanding of conducting comprehensive price proposal evaluations and creating detailed construction line-item proposals.

• Train contractors in the use of Gordian software, adhere to client procedures, and assist in the client contract bidding process.

• Communicate effectively and clearly with clients and internal team members to ensure timely and budget-conscious project completion.

• Manage multiple accounts while fostering positive relationships with all customers.

• Drive client retention, renewals, upsells, and overall client satisfaction.

• Collaborate closely with Project Managers and Account Managers on daily operations, including contract renewals, procurement schedules, troubleshooting, and providing software training to client and contractor personnel.

• Work in tandem with teams to identify root causes of customer successes and challenges, driving process enhancement and development as required.

• Partner with internal cross-functional teams to comprehend customer objectives and key performance indicators, striving to surpass those goals annually.

• Offer insights on new processes and workflows as necessary.

• Focus on maintaining high levels of customer service, operational excellence, and strategic insight.

• Collaborate closely with construction management firms to ensure consistency while developing standards and procedures.

• Coordinate with Finance on billing arrangements and invoicing.

• Engage in budget development and management, as well as revenue forecasting.

• Collaborate with Sales and Business Operations teams to create annual program usage and benchmark reports.

• Monitor and ensure follow-through on all construction and project-related activities to guarantee work aligns with client needs and is executed promptly within budget constraints.

• Assess contractors' change requests and, when warranted, initiate job order supplements.

• Interact with owner representatives, contractors, and facility end-users to alleviate project concerns.

• Review contractors' daily inspection reports, summarizing and reporting construction progress weekly to upper management.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction procurement, construction management, project management, or general contracting, preferably in both facilities and road construction.

• Extensive knowledge and experience in public construction operations, pricing, and contracting, including scope development and estimating/price proposal creation.

• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously during development and construction phases.

• Exceptional customer service and communication skills, along with strong interpersonal and team-building capabilities; adaptable, strategic thinker, results-oriented, client-focused, and adept at meeting deadlines.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Power BI, with the ability to create and generate custom tracking documents and reports.

• Background in construction documentation and administration is preferred but not mandatory.

• Experience with Job Order Contracting or IDIQ is preferred but not required; thorough understanding of various public procurement and project delivery methods and requirements.
