This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Evaluate conflict check requests related to new business opportunities and conflicts of interest while collaborating closely with Conflict Attorneys.
• Draft and secure conflicts waivers.
• Oversee and inspect new intake submissions for commercial and litigation cases, ensuring that the information provided by parties is accurate and complete.
• Collect data from both internal and external databases, as well as from involved attorneys, to perform factual research on potential clients and relevant parties.
• Ascertain the status of pertinent matters and evaluate if a conflict of interest is present.
• Deliver associated risk assessments.
• Implement business rules for search criteria to decide if the Firm can accept new clients and matters in compliance with ethical standards, applicable laws, and internal policies.
• Assist in the review, analysis, identification, and handling of requests related to new business.
• Support conflicts-related data and processes, contributing to the efficient initiation of new matters.
• Collaborate with attorneys and professional staff across the Firm’s global offices.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a conflicts analyst in a law firm, corporation, or financial institution.
• Familiarity with the types of work conducted by a large global law firm, along with a solid understanding of commercial and legal terminology.
• Strong organizational skills, including effective issue tracking, follow-up, and resolution capabilities.
• Ability to work proficiently with personnel at all levels in a global environment with tact and diplomacy.
• Capacity to communicate professionally, clearly, concisely, and diplomatically, both verbally and in writing.
• Proficiency in research tools such as Capital IQ and World-Check One.
• Knowledge of InTapp is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Demonstrated organizational skills, with the ability to produce a high-quality, accurate, and efficient written work product in a fast-paced environment.
• Capability to manage complex projects and tasks while adhering to tight deadlines.
• Advanced understanding of conflicts and experience in conflict resolution, with a comprehensive knowledge of corporate law practices; prior experience in law firm conflicts and intake is preferred.
