This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create, revise, format, manage, and publish technical documentation that supports cybersecurity architecture, security engineering, operations, modernization, and program management.
• Convert intricate technical concepts, engineering designs, cybersecurity requirements, and subject matter expert (SME) insights into clear, concise, accurate, and audience-appropriate documentation.
• Develop and uphold standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical procedures, plans, reports, diagrams, templates, configuration documentation, training materials, test documentation, and other contractual deliverables.
• Evaluate documents for clarity, consistency, accuracy, completeness, grammar, formatting, terminology, and adherence to Government-approved templates and standards.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity architects, engineers, analysts, developers, project managers, and technical SMEs to ensure documentation accurately represents technical solutions, configurations, risks, requirements, and operational processes.
• Document technical processes, system configurations, operational procedures, change-management processes, and configuration-management procedures.
• Assist with configuration-management and change-management processes for systems, applications, infrastructure, documentation, and technical deliverables.
• Monitor configuration items, baselines, revisions, approvals, ownership, dependencies, and changes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain a Configuration Management Database (CMDB) or similar configuration repository and an organized, searchable, version-controlled Artifact Library.
• Implement IT Service Management (ITSM)/Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) principles, Government-approved taxonomy, naming conventions, metadata, version control, and records-management practices.
• Ensure deliverables meet Section 508 accessibility standards and comply with Government-approved templates.
• Develop and sustain documentation for security architecture, security engineering, cybersecurity operations, configuration, training, technical diagrams, and knowledge management.
• Support change-control activities, technical reviews, project meetings, approval workflows, quality-control reviews, and Government submissions of deliverables.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, configuration items, engineering changes, documentation updates, and approved system baselines.
• Safeguard sensitive information using approved Government security controls and procedures.
• Manage documentation throughout the entire project lifecycle.
• May require up to two onsite travel visits annually.
• A minimum of 5 years of IT experience, which includes at least 3 years of Configuration Management or Technical Editing experience within a large corporation or Government agency comparable in size and scope to GSA, IRS, DoD, or VA.
• A Master’s degree in a relevant IT field may substitute for up to 2 years of the required experience.
• Proficiency in configuration management, change management, or related roles within IT or software development environments.
• Expertise in overseeing and managing configuration items such as hardware, software, documentation, and other deliverables.
• Proven experience in documenting technical processes, system configurations, and change management procedures.
• Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) frameworks and best practices, including ITIL.
• Demonstrated experience in maintaining a centralized Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
• Knowledge of project management or experience working in a project-oriented environment.
• Understanding of how configuration management integrates into the overall project lifecycle within a large corporation or Government agency similar in size and scope to GSA, IRS, DoD, or VA.
