
Comprehensive Disaster Recovery Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Act as a proficient disaster recovery specialist, showcasing substantial experience in aiding local governments with long-term recovery efforts following natural disasters, while also functioning as a hands-on project manager to oversee a dynamic and intricate disaster recovery process.
• Candidates should utilize their knowledge of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Public Assistance (PA) Program - Permanent Work (Categories C-G), and understand how these can be strategically applied to tackle complex issues and requirements in a post-catastrophic disaster setting.
• Serve as an expert in the FEMA PA Program, capable of responding to policy-related inquiries within a reasonable yet necessary timeframe.
• Manage a multi-disciplinary team addressing all facets of recovery (e.g., cost recovery, infrastructure redevelopment, economic development, housing, social services, etc.), assigning tasks, evaluating staffing needs, and creating methodologies to fulfill unmet needs and optimize funding.
• Uphold robust project management practices, ensuring that the client is informed of all activities; deliverables meet the highest quality standards; and maintain Hagerty's core values of integrity, innovation, teamwork, and excellence throughout all initiatives.
• Previous support for local governments affected by natural disasters through various federal disaster grant programs from the initial stages of a disaster to grant obligation and closure.
• At least four years (4) of experience in the FEMA PA Program, which includes Permanent Work (Categories C-G).
• Proven experience in managing complex and dynamic projects.
• High proficiency in written communication, including the capability to develop nuanced and policy-complex recommendation documents.
• Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to high-level stakeholders.
• Prior experience in managing the workload of large multi-disciplinary teams with varying levels of expertise (i.e., from junior associates to senior subject matter experts).
• Strong proficiency in MS Office applications, databases, and other software/technology platforms.
