This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +2 more states.
• Conducting composite blade repairs at the factory, including complex or specialty repairs up to Category 5.
• Executing Epoxy and Polyester resin wet lay-up, vacuum infusion, and working with balsa and foam sandwich materials.
• May be tasked with performing structural repairs on blades.
• Completing comprehensive Daily Progress Reporting Documents and QA/QC reports while adhering to established Quality Checkpoints.
• Potential travel to various wind farms across North America on an 8/1 rotation.
• A minimum of 5 years of high-quality composite repair experience, covering all types of blade repairs.
• Proficient in epoxy and polyester resins, wet lay-up methods, and vacuum bag techniques.
• Experience with handling balsa and foam core materials.
• Familiarity with fiberglass reinforcement and structural repair techniques.
• Capability to safely and effectively use powered hand tools.
• Good finger dexterity, ensuring precise handling of hand and power tools.
• Understanding of repair specifications.
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and processes.
• IT literate, including proficiency in email, internet, and iPad usage.
• Strong team player with the ability to take guidance and provide leadership when necessary.
• Flexibility to adapt to changes in project scope and work assignments.
• Physically fit to meet demanding job requirements, including climbing ladders and scaffolding, bending, crawling, stooping, and lifting up to 75 pounds.
• Capability to wear a respirator and work safely with protective equipment.
• Good vision (with corrective lenses if necessary) to perform detailed inspections, read instructions, and operate equipment safely.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license, a good MVR report, and must be 21 years of age or older to operate a company vehicle.
• Eligible to work in the U.S. (citizenship or legal work authorization required).
• Must successfully pass a criminal background check and maintain a drug-free status.
• To be considered for this position, candidates must hold the following certifications: GWO BST (Basic Safety Training) – fire awareness, working at heights, manual handling, first aid; GWO ART (Advanced Rescue Training); GWO Slinger Signaller or Siemens Rigging Safety; Blade Repair or Advanced Blade Repair certification; Spot Paint certification; OSHA 10 General Industry EHS Regional Compliance (preferred; assistance available to obtain certification); Rigging Safety; SGRE Blade C or Blade D certification (preferred but not required).
