Compliance Program Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage the complete FedRAMP readiness and authorization-to-operate process for PlanetScale, from inception to completion.

• Act as the primary compliance liaison for audits and assessments related to SOC 1, SOC 2, PCI, and FedRAMP.

• Develop audit strategies, assess documentation and evidence, analyze procedures, and facilitate external walkthroughs.

• Create, monitor, and report on key performance indicators and maturity metrics associated with audit and compliance initiatives.

• Work in tandem with IT, Engineering, Legal, and People teams to address privacy, data protection risks, and compliance obligations.

• Evaluate security and compliance threats by leveraging industry standards and best practices.

• Identify areas of risk exposure and recommend and implement corrective controls.

• Oversee and refine existing compliance obligations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in contributing to or overseeing audits within a technology-focused organization, showcasing proven FedRAMP expertise.

• Familiarity with SOC 2 and PCI Data Security Standards.

• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.

• Capability to convey compliance and privacy concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Proven experience in remote and asynchronous collaboration across various teams and time zones.

• Background in engaging with external auditors, consultants, and legal departments.

• Experience in contributing to or managing organization-wide risk assessments.

• Understanding of cloud service providers, including AWS, Azure, and GCP.

• Proficiency with databases, developer tools, infrastructure, or other technical offerings.

• Working knowledge of SQL, ideally with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL.

• CISSP certification preferred; CISA or CISM are also advantageous.
