Compliance Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Prepare and assess non-discrimination, top-heavy, coverage, 415 annual addition, 401(a)(4), and various compliance tests for intricate retirement plans.

• Conduct advanced testing for New Comparability plans, multiple employer plans, and high-profile retirement plans.

• Evaluate legal plan documents and employee data to ascertain participant eligibility.

• Collaborate on year-end processing challenges alongside Relationship Managers and Client Service Managers.

• Support client communications and inquiries.

• Spearhead process enhancement initiatives and integrate updates in tax legislation.

• Aid in training staff on new operational processes.

• Utilize technical expertise and available resources to address compliance challenges.

• Share information and address inquiries from managers, clients, and internal stakeholders.

• Work in partnership with colleagues to exchange knowledge and insights.

• Uphold tax-qualified plan status by fulfilling IRS and DOL reporting and testing obligations.

• Execute additional responsibilities related to departmental functions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline or a combination of educational background and industry experience.

• Over 6 years of progressive experience in plan administration within a third-party environment.

• Proficiency in preparing, reviewing, and clarifying qualified plan compliance testing and government form submissions.

• Proven experience with controlled groups, cross-testing, catch-up contributions, and other specialized topics.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel.

• In-depth understanding of retirement plan tax law (ERISA), including Revenue Code sections 401, 401(a)(4), 416, 414(b), 414(c), 414(m), and 414(n).

• Strong mathematical skills, particularly in detailed financial reconciliation and data analysis.

• QKA or QKC designation is preferred.

• Consistent, reliable, and punctual attendance is essential.

• Willingness to travel up to 5%.
