This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Serve as an internal consultant offering comprehensive compensation and policy assistance to HR, managers, and employees.
• Conduct thorough job evaluations for newly created or modified positions, assessing classification, exemption status, and competitive market salaries.
• Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of compensation and job evaluation data.
• Validate job requirements through job analysis, interviews, questionnaires, and observation of duties.
• Collaborate with HR and business leaders to draft, review, and revise job descriptions.
• Aid in the development of career pathways, job architecture, and job ladders.
• Generate reports summarizing job analysis/evaluation, career charting, and compensation data.
• Conduct compensation analyses and market pricing, including FLSA testing and classification.
• Prepare ad hoc analyses, reports, and materials to support decisions on complex compensation issues.
• Complete compensation survey submissions and evaluate results.
• Support mid-year and annual merit compensation planning cycles.
• Develop or update processes, procedures, and guidelines for compensation programs.
• Audit, maintain, and enhance compensation systems.
• Educate managers and employees on compensation philosophy and pay-for-performance practices.
• Lead or participate in special compensation projects and competitive industry assessments.
• Stay updated on compensation topics through training and technical materials.
• Assist in designing, communicating, and administering cash compensation, short-term incentive, and long-term equity award programs.
• Support tracking of employee job description acknowledgments.
• Over 5 years of progressive compensation experience within a Human Resources function, preferably in life sciences, biotech, or pharma.
• Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, human resources, finance, psychology, or a related field.
• Proficient in compensation theory and familiar with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
• Experience in building compensation models and conducting detailed pay analyses.
• Proficiency in using compensation survey data; familiarity with Radford and Mercer industry surveys is preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Exceptional interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
• Capable of handling highly confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
• Willingness to travel to company events, team meetings, and/or industry conferences 4–5 times a year.
