Community Mortgage Loan Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Identifies, cultivates, and sustains a high-quality network of community-based organizations, real estate professionals, and local state/government entities.

• Processes residential mortgage loan applications and conveys underwriting outcomes.

• Enhances mortgage loan volume by concentrating on CRA, low- and moderate-income, and multicultural borrowers.

• Builds partnerships with nonprofit entities and community-focused affordable housing organizations.

• Acts as a representative of the bank in community meetings and initiatives.

• Clarifies a variety of mortgage products and services available, offering recommendations tailored to the needs of individual prospects.

• Assists customers throughout the mortgage application journey.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent progressive work experience.

• At least 3 years of relevant experience required.

• Expanding network of external contacts to generate quality referral business.

• Self-motivated with the ability to plan personal activities to meet sales objectives.

• Excellent time management abilities.

• Proficient in PC skills, including knowledge of mortgage origination and automated underwriting systems.

• Must maintain an active registration status with NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry).

• Established connections with community-based organizations, municipalities, and agencies dedicated to affordable housing and first-time homebuyer education.

• Proven sales capabilities.

• Comprehensive understanding of the mortgage industry, including products, lending practices, and regulatory guidelines.

• Minimum target annual loan originations of 48 units for low- and moderate-income/multicultural borrowers.
