Community Moderator – External Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Assist Community Managers in moderating Udacity’s scholarship communities

• Conduct daily monitoring of the forum, including weekends, at least twice a day, ideally spaced several hours apart

• Offer non-technical support to students within the community

• Address violation posts and ensure adherence to community guidelines

• Occasionally assist the Community Manager with performance summaries upon request

• Support forum activities and collaborate on strategies to enhance member engagement

• Participate in regular online meetings with Udacity representatives

• Engage in group discussions with Udacity representatives

• Ensure that all members have an enjoyable and engaging learning experience

• Shortlisted candidates will complete a brief assessment and submit a short video introduction as part of the selection process

⛳️ Requirements

• Must reside in the USA or Canada

• Graduates of Udacity courses or Nanodegrees are preferred

• Strong understanding of online communities and the ability to remain calm under pressure

• Reliable internet connection, as all daily responsibilities are conducted online

• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with a proactive mindset

• Familiarity with online community moderation tools (forums, commenting, content management, etc.)

• Knowledge of Udacity’s services, target audience, and community culture

• Capable of effectively communicating information and reporting when necessary

• Sound understanding of customer service principles

• Availability to work across various days, evenings, and weekends as needed

• Student-oriented approach focused on understanding learners' needs

• Flexibility to undertake this role as a part-time external contractor alongside existing employment

• Applicants for employment in the US must possess work authorization that does not currently or in the future require visa sponsorship for employment authorization in the United States
