Community Moderator – External Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Arab Emirates (UAE).

📋 Description

• Assist Community Managers in moderating Udacity’s scholarship communities

• Conduct daily monitoring of the forum, including weekends, at least twice a day, ideally with several hours in between

• Offer non-technical support to students within the community

• Address posts that violate community guidelines and ensure adherence among members

• Occasionally provide assistance to the Community Manager in preparing performance summaries upon request

• Facilitate forum activities and generate ideas to enhance member engagement

• Participate in regular online meetings with Udacity representatives

• Engage in group discussions alongside Udacity representatives

• Ensure a fun and engaging learning environment for all members

⛳️ Requirements

• Must reside in the UAE

• Graduates of Udacity courses or Nanodegrees are preferred

• Familiarity with online communities and the ability to remain calm under pressure

• Reliable internet connection, as all daily tasks are conducted online

• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with a proactive attitude

• Knowledge of moderation tools for online community platforms (forums, commenting, content management, etc.)

• Understanding of Udacity’s services, target audience, and community culture

• Capability to communicate information effectively and report when necessary

• Solid understanding of customer service principles

• Availability to work on days, evenings, and weekends as required

• Student-oriented mindset focused on addressing learner needs

• Flexibility to undertake this role as a part-time external contractor while maintaining a current job
