Community Moderator – External Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Assist Community Managers in moderating Udacity’s scholarship communities.

• Monitor the forum on a daily basis, including weekends, at least twice each day, ideally spaced several hours apart.

• Provide non-technical support to students within the community.

• Address violation posts and ensure that all members adhere to community guidelines.

• Occasionally assist the Community Manager with performance summaries upon request.

• Support forum activities and brainstorm strategies to enhance member engagement.

• Participate in regular online meetings with Udacity representatives.

• Engage in group discussions with Udacity representatives.

• Ensure that all members enjoy a fun and engaging learning environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be residing in India.

• Graduation from a Udacity course/Nanodegree is a plus.

• Good understanding of online communities and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

• A strong internet connection is necessary, as daily tasks are completely online.

• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with a proactive mindset.

• Familiarity with online community platform moderation tools (forums, commenting, content management, etc.).

• Knowledge of Udacity’s services, target audience, and community culture.

• Ability to communicate information effectively and report when necessary.

• Good understanding of customer service principles.

• Availability to work on days, evenings, and weekends as required.

• Student-oriented approach with a focus on understanding learner needs.

• Flexibility to embrace this challenge as a part-time external contractor alongside a current job.
