Community Manager

Posted 1 day ago

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Organize and facilitate gatherings. Conceptualize and implement meetings, workshops, and activation points β€” whether in local markets or within national partner networks β€” managing everything from logistics to facilitation and follow-up.

β€’ Establish a rhythm. Create a schedule of engagements that maintains community activity and connection without causing burnout.

β€’ Oversee logistics. Cultivate relationships with venues, vendors, and logistics partners to ensure each gathering runs seamlessly, leaving leaders with memorable experiences.

β€’ Document outcomes. Capture stories, connections, and insights from each event and relay them back to the team and the platform.

β€’ Manage online community circles. Set up and organize virtual spaces, moderate discussions, and foster member engagement.

β€’ Foster leader-to-leader connections. Facilitate introductions, identify common interests, and build peer relationships that endure beyond individual events.

β€’ Assist with leader onboarding. Support new leaders in integrating into the BTP community, ensuring they are aware of others in the network and potential collaborative opportunities.

β€’ Monitor community engagement. Track attendance, identify who is bringing in new members, and recognize those ready to take on more significant roles within the network.

β€’ Recognize emerging leaders. Identify community members prepared to take on more active roles and connect them with opportunities within BTP.

β€’ Collaborate closely with your Sr. EM. Act as the execution layer for the activation strategy β€” whether coordinating with Radius leads in local markets or collaborating with organizational counterparts in national partner networks.

β€’ Support implementing partners. Assist local or organizational partners in conducting their own activations within the BTP framework, easing their participation burden.

β€’ Act as the connective tissue. Serve as the link between the Sr. EM, Radius teams or partner organizations, and the leaders in each market or network.

β€’ Coordinate across tracks. Work with the other Community Manager to identify opportunities where regional and organizational leader communities can intersect.

⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Proven experience in planning and executing events or gatherings for community, civic, or professional audiences β€” you know how to facilitate engagement across diverse contexts and scales.

β€’ Cross-cultural fluency β€” genuine comfort and curiosity about diverse communities and cultural contexts.

β€’ Ability to manage multiple markets, timelines, and logistical streams simultaneously while maintaining focus on underlying relationships.

β€’ A strong belief in the mission β€” you recognize that what you are creating is not merely a program, but a community, and that distinction influences your approach.
