This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.
• The Community Manager serves as the representative and advocate for brands across various social media channels.
• Develop and execute social media strategies that align with brand goals and guidelines.
• Perform social listening and competitive analysis to guide strategic decisions.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Keep abreast of updates, algorithms, and advertising policies on social media platforms.
• Generate engaging, platform-specific content (including copy, visuals, and videos) that fosters interaction and growth.
• Curate pertinent third-party content to enhance community value.
• Oversee content calendars to ensure consistent and timely publishing.
• Manage and moderate communities across various platforms.
• Address comments, messages, and feedback in a prompt and professional manner.
• Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and vibrant community atmosphere.
• Actively engage with users and foster relationships.
• Identify and develop brand advocates and influencers.
• Monitor and analyze performance metrics to evaluate campaign success.
• Prepare regular reports that include key insights and recommendations.
• Utilize data to continually enhance content and engagement strategies.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams (creative, strategy, analytics) to implement campaigns.
• Participate in client meetings, offering social insights and recommendations.
• Effectively communicate with stakeholders regarding performance and strategy.
• Track brand mentions and sentiment across social media platforms.
• Proactively identify and manage potential reputation risks.
• Address negative feedback in a constructive and professional way.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience managing social media communities for brands (agency experience is preferred).
• Demonstrated success in executing effective social media campaigns.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong grasp of tone and voice.
• In-depth knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube).
• Experience with social media management, listening, and analytics tools.
• Understanding of paid social and campaign management practices.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• A creative mindset with a passion for digital and social media.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in additional South African languages is advantageous.
