Community Gaming Developer Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

šŸ“‹ Description

• Develop, organize, and oversee the Discord community, which includes welcome flows, moderation guidelines, automated tools, and weekly engagement practices.

• Personally facilitate the onboarding process for trial and VIP users.

• Ensure that community showcase posts receive replies within 24 hours.

• Represent the organization at both digital and in-person gaming events.

• Foster relationships with developers and technical artists.

• Create short video tutorials, quickstart clips, prompt resources, and highlights from community showcases.

• Write and schedule weekly content for LinkedIn, which includes launch follow-ups, member spotlights, product demonstrations, and event invitations.

• Keep a well-structured content calendar to ensure regular video and public post releases.

• Transform community engagement into case studies, user testimonials, and feedback loops.

• Identify, qualify, and convert users to monthly subscriptions through community and LinkedIn channels.

• Recognize high-value and studio-scale opportunities and arrange qualified meetings for enterprise license discussions.

• Implement outreach sequences, manage lead qualification, and maintain precise CRM pipeline data.

• Report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and work alongside strategic advisors.


ā›³ļø Requirements

• Practical knowledge of character creation pipelines for games, encompassing modeling, rigging, texturing, variation costs, and engine integration (Unreal Engine or Unity).

• Strong technical communication abilities to engage effectively with technical artists and studio developers.

• Fluency in written English with a capacity for clear and prompt communication.

• Proven self-starter experience with a history of owning operational outcomes in small team settings.

• Highly organized in tracking discussions and managing follow-ups autonomously.

• Hands-on experience with Claude (or other LLM tools) and Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations.

• Background in marketing and sales, particularly in outreach, lead qualification, and deal support.

• Demonstrated enthusiasm for the gaming industry and active participation in gaming culture.

• Proven experience in building or managing online communities, such as Discord, Reddit, or developer forums.

• Proficiency in using Discord, Claude, LinkedIn, CRM systems, screen recording, and basic video editing tools.
