This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Identify and map community stakeholders, including builders, organizers, institutions, civic groups, and business associations in each market, while establishing ongoing engagement strategies.
• Recognize valuable relationships and seek partnership opportunities with organizations that align with our audience or vision.
• Create touchpoint strategies for new homeowners, new parents, newcomers, and retirees looking for local information.
• Design and implement an ambassador training program that equips staff with the necessary language, confidence, and tools to represent their brands effectively in public.
• Develop practical playbooks for community events, newsletter sign-ups, presentations to community groups, brand-related inquiries, and meaningful interactions.
• Collaborate with editors to identify journalists with strong community profiles and enhance their visibility.
• Maintain a consistent brand experience that conveys trust and utility across Ontario locations.
• Create replicable virtual and in-person events tailored for various markets.
• Execute grassroots campaigns aimed at increasing newsletter subscriptions and app downloads.
• Monitor community engagement tactics that yield new subscribers, adjusting efforts as needed.
• Provide regular reports to leadership on brand awareness, audience expansion, partnership activities, and community sentiment.
• Identify communities or neighborhoods with low awareness and engagement, developing focused action plans.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in community engagement, stakeholder relationship management, or brand marketing.
• Demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships with diverse community groups or organizations.
• Proven experience in designing and executing campaigns that foster audience growth and engagement.
• Experience in training or coaching others, along with developing practical playbooks or systems.
• Strong strategic thinking skills and an understanding of what fosters local trust and credibility.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others.
• Comfortable working with data and analytics; capable of tracking metrics and adapting strategies as needed.
• Strong project management abilities and experience collaborating cross-functionally with teams.
• A genuine curiosity about communities and their dynamics.
• An entrepreneurial mindset, with a knack for being resourceful and adaptable.
• An authentic communication style, avoiding corporate jargon.
• Resilience and determination in building relationships.
• A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Community Development, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in relevant roles.
• Preferred: Experience in local media, local business, or community organizations.
• Preferred: Background in Ontario or similar regional markets.
• Preferred: Familiarity with digital engagement platforms, newsletters, or subscriber models.
• Remote work and travel within southern/central Ontario are required.
