Communications Strategist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the creation and implementation of comprehensive communication strategies and campaigns.

• Manage daily messaging initiatives across various mission teams and communication platforms.

• Produce communication materials such as talking points, announcements, briefings, and digital content.

• Ensure that messages align with leadership priorities, new initiatives, and policy directions.

• Oversee editorial calendars, content workflows, and governance processes for communications.

• Conduct research to guide messaging, campaign strategies, and stakeholder engagement efforts.

• Collaborate with UX, data, and IT teams to ensure content alignment and address digital communication needs.

• Assist in tracking communication performance, including metrics, sentiment insights, and campaign evaluations.

• Ensure adherence to accessibility standards, federal communication guidelines, and established branding protocols.

• Enhance communication tools, templates, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and best practices.


⛳️ Requirements

• Active Secret clearance or higher is mandatory.

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Political Science, or a related discipline.

• At least 6 years of experience in communications, strategic messaging, public affairs, or related areas.

• Proven experience in supporting integrated communication campaigns and executing communication strategies.

• Demonstrated ability to produce mission-focused communications across both digital and traditional media.

• Experience in facilitating cross-functional collaboration with program, mission, or technical teams.

• Knowledge of developing communication strategies, stakeholder messaging, and audience analysis.

• Familiarity with digital communication tools, editorial workflows, and content governance practices.

• Understanding of accessibility compliance and federal communication requirements.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Ability to distill complex information into clear and engaging messaging.

• Exceptional skills in stakeholder engagement and relationship building.

• Capability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

• Innovative thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
