Communications Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Connects the executive vision with daily operations, ensuring all internal and external communications are cohesive, culturally aligned, and measurable.

• Capable of simplifying complex issues into clear and direct products that are both consistent and precise.

• Responsible for writing, editing, and managing high-quality content across various platforms including newsletters, SharePoint, storytelling, change management strategies, engagement initiatives, Town Halls, FAQs, scripts, talking points, presentations, QA, surveys, hot sheets, executive leadership engagement, and internal channels.

• Monitors, measures, and reports on communication metrics (such as audience engagement, web traffic, and press coverage) to continuously enhance strategies. Establish and oversee feedback loops, change management champions, and facility focus groups, including anonymous suggestion boxes and pulse surveys, to assess employee sentiment and address concerns.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.

• A total of 8 years of experience.

• Over 7 years of experience in communications within the federal sector.

• Exceptional communication skills.

• Must have previously engaged with the VA/VHA Finance community during career.

• Thrives in a fast-paced environment with quick turnaround requirements.

• Capability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

• Proficient communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Strong proficiency in MS Office tools.

• Skills in team building, organization, and leadership.

• Ability to effectively communicate and interact with senior management and clients.

• Expertise in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.

• Keen attention to detail.

• Strong analytical skills.

• Exceptional ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
