This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Build and manage a team of eight across diverse Corporate Communications functions.
• Develop and execute comprehensive Corporate Communications strategies that align with the organization’s goals, values, and brand positioning for both internal and external audiences.
• Collaborate with executive leadership, people operations product teams, and external stakeholders to create clear, impactful messaging and materials that support business priorities, organizational transitions, and market positioning.
• Establish and implement rapid response capabilities.
• Oversee high-impact communication events, including executive speaking engagements, industry conferences, customer events, and internal leadership meetings.
• Drive AI integration within the communications team to enhance content ideation, creation, and scalability.
• Manage and optimize the corporate communications channel ecosystem—including earned media, owned channels, executive communications, and employee engagement tools—while innovating with new formats and technologies.
• Lead cross-functional storytelling initiatives that connect daily work to Cohere's mission, highlight customer success stories, and elevate executive thought leadership in the market.
• Utilize data-driven insights and audience research to shape communications strategies that resonate with employees, customers, partners, investors, and industry influencers.
• Direct crisis and issues communications preparedness and responses across all stakeholder groups, coordinating with legal, executive leadership, and functional teams to safeguard corporate reputation and stakeholder trust.
• Act as the central communications hub, ensuring seamless integration and consistency between internal communications, external PR, marketing narratives, and executive messaging across all channels.
• Possess 12-15 years of experience in in-house corporate communications, preferably in a fast-paced, high-growth tech or AI environment.
• Have over 5 years of experience in people management.
• Be resourceful, thriving on thinking “outside the box” and enjoying the process of solving problems.
• Be skilled in pre-IPO communications.
• Have experience in policy and regulatory communications.
• Be an exceptional writer, able to distill complex, cross-functional topics into clear, compelling narratives.
• Have experience as a communications business partner or trusted advisor to senior leaders, executives, and people/human resources teams.
• Be highly organized and process-oriented, with strong project management skills and a proactive mindset.
• Bring a high level of creativity to communications—encompassing format, channel, and storytelling.
• Be comfortable navigating organizational dynamics and building strong relationships at all levels.
• Excel in ambiguous, fast-paced environments and know how to prioritize effectively.
