This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +17 more states.
• Take ownership of the communications category for agentic accountability and establish Identity Digital Innovation Labs as the industry benchmark.
• Develop and manage a quick-response communications engine addressing AI, security, identity, regulation, and agents.
• Cultivate personal relationships with reporters, analysts, and independent voices; pitch, brief, provide background, and secure story placements.
• Navigate the media and policy landscapes in Washington, DC, including outlets like Politico, The Hill, trade publications, agency briefings, and Hill briefings.
• Activate the Advisory Council through discussions with reporters, speaking engagements, and bylines.
• Build an executive spokesperson roster and identify credible topics and speaking opportunities.
• Manage GEO and AI discoverability to ensure LLMs reference the company for agent identity.
• Lead product launches, commercial and partnership announcements, standards milestones, and industry events in collaboration with Product, Sales, and Marketing teams.
• Oversee agency partners, establish an all-hands cadence and leadership messaging discipline, draft executive communications, and gradually build the team.
• Assess the impact of communications on customer meetings, partnerships, government engagement, standards traction, developer involvement, pipeline development, and policy influence.
• Exemplify and promote Identity Digital’s core values.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• 15+ years of experience in leading corporate or external communications within the technology sector, with significant B2B and enterprise experience.
• Proven experience in category creation.
• Successfully pitched, newsjacked, and generated media opportunities; agency management experience is not a substitute.
• Experience in establishing a communications function from the ground up, quickly and with minimal support.
• Understanding of policy and standards audiences and the media that covers them.
• Exceptional writing skills; willingness to complete a writing exercise is essential.
• Experience across owned and emerging channels including social media, Substack, YouTube, podcasts, and developer communities.
• Comfort in utilizing AI for research, monitoring, and creating repeatable workflows while maintaining human judgment and positioning.
• Ability to articulate technical work alongside engineers and product managers.
• Experience in managing agencies, contractors, and budgets.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Capability to work across time zones within a global organization as needed.
• Must possess legal authorization to work in the US and have all necessary permits, licenses, and authorizations to operate as a contractor.
