Commissioning Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Develop, oversee, and implement the strategies, scheduling, and budgeting for the commissioning execution plan.

• Ensure that project milestones are completed punctually and within financial constraints.

• Guarantee that all activities align with the site’s EHS plan and established safe work protocols.

• Coordinate contractual testing with clients and confirm the adequacy of contracts.

• Transfer systems to the client without defects and address any punch-list items afterward.

• Manage, evaluate, supervise, support, and enhance the commissioning team.

• Ensure compliance with quality standards by assigning responsibilities, conducting necessary inspections, tests, and witness points, and generating or acquiring quality records.

• Perform commissioning activities in accordance with specifications, engineering and commissioning documentation, safety protocols, environmental regulations, and local laws.

• Accept the transition of systems from construction to commissioning and facilitate the handover from commissioning to the client following established procedures and contractual agreements.

• Manage, execute, coordinate, and oversee the commissioning of systems as per schedule, contract requirements, and in collaboration with the Site Manager, project management, and clients.

• Review and assess project risks, and follow up on planning and execution of mitigation strategies.

• Identify and evaluate technical challenges, monitor defects, determine solutions, seek technical assistance, and report issues.

• Serve as a resource for less-experienced team members.

• Lead small, low-risk projects and facilitate consensus among team members.

• Communicate performance expectations and address sensitive matters.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in commissioning with knowledge of Combined Cycle Power Plants (CCPP) and Aeroderivative Power Plants.

• Proven experience in leading a team of supervisors and technicians during pre-commissioning and commissioning phases.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution, or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 10 years of commissioning experience.

• Willingness to travel globally for extended assignments.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Demonstrated capability to analyze and resolve issues effectively.

• Proficient in documenting, planning, marketing, and executing programs.

• Established project management competencies.

• Previous experience in a Commissioning Manager role for CCPP or other types of power plants.

• Strong teamwork abilities and motivational skills with the capacity to influence and persuade.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening, if applicable.
